The BTU Student Parliament (StuPa) is the highest decision-making body of the student body. It is generally re-elected annually by you, the students—this election is organized by an Election Commission (WaKo) that is independent of the Parliament. Due to an adjustment to remain in compliance with the BBgHG, we are announcing the WaKo for the 2026/27 winter semester, specifically for January 2027.
The WaKo’s responsibilities include planning, organizing, and conducting the election. The election and the opportunity to run for the StuPa must be promoted at the university in a timely manner, which requires, among other things, the creation and distribution of posters, flyers, and other promotional materials. Feel free to promote the election vigorously on online channels as well—creativity in promotional efforts is always welcome!
After the election, the Election Commission convenes and chairs the constituent meeting of the newly elected StuPa. This also includes drafting official minutes. As part of the post-election follow-up, the Commission must also document the positive and negative experiences gathered, along with recommendations for the next Election Commission, in a written final report.
Of course, all of this is carried out in accordance with the student body’s bylaws and regulations, particularly its election regulations.
To fulfill these tasks, we are looking for:
At least five dedicated, team-oriented, and interested students who enjoy taking on responsibility and working independently and who would like to be an active part of the democratic process.
We offer you:
An exciting work environment with flexible scheduling, a friendly team with a broad range of expertise that is happy to support you with any questions, and the opportunity for personal development—particularly in teamwork, communication skills, conflict resolution, as well as time management, self-management, and project management.
The stipend is 750 euros for the entire Election Commission. This stipend is contingent upon conducting the election as well as the preparation and follow-up work.
Applications for the Election Commission can be submitted through Sunday, July 20.
