Dear students,
At our university, many students get involved in activities that go far beyond their studies – in student councils, initiatives, social projects, cultural events or sustainability projects. We want to highlight and recognise this commitment.
That is why, for the first time since 2019, we are launching the Student Engagement Award.
This award recognises students, initiatives and projects that have made a special contribution to the university community or to social issues.
Application period: 1 April – 30 April
Who can apply? The following are eligible to apply:
• individual students
• student initiatives
• university groups
• project teams
Applications may be submitted either by the applicant themselves or via nomination by a third party.
Applicants must hold active student status during the application period. Each person or project may submit one application in one category.
Award categories The award is presented in five categories:
- Self-governance and campus Involvement in student councils, the Student Union or university committees.
- Teaching and Education Tutorials, mentoring programmes or initiatives to improve study and teaching.
- Social and Volunteering Projects on integration, inclusion, acceptance, refugee support or social engagement.
- Sustainability and Environment Initiatives on environmental, climate or sustainability issues in a university context.
- Culture and Events Organisation of cultural projects or events to enrich campus life.
Prize The winners will receive:
• a certificate
• prize money of €250 per category The award ceremony will take place as part of ‘Teaching Day’ on 9 July 2026.
Application documents Please submit the following documents:
• Application cover sheet (name, degree programme, category, contact details)
• Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages)
• Current certificate of enrolment
• Evidence of your involvement (e.g. letters of recommendation, certificates, project photos or links to projects)
