StuRa, the student council representing and supporting students at BTU Cottbus- Senftenberg, is inviting all BTU students to participate in the Welcome Back Photo Contest .
Capture a creative, funny or memorable moment that represents the beginning of the new semester and student life at BTU. Choose one of three categories:
- Chaos: Funny, unexpected or chaotic moments from the beginning of the semester
- Connection: New friendships, roommates, study groups and moments that bring students together
- Campus Spirit: Creative photos that capture the places, atmosphere and energy of BTU
Three categories. Nine finalists. Three winners.
A jury will select three finalists from each category. All nine finalist photographs will be featured on the StuRa Instagram account and displayed in an on-campus photo exhibition. The BTU community will also have the opportunity to support the finalists by liking and commenting on their photographs on Instagram. The three category winners will receive exciting prizes and official recognition from StuRa. All finalists will receive special gifts and certificates.
How to participate
- Follow @sturabtucs on Instagram.
- Post your photo to your Instagram Story.
- Add a creative title, tag @sturabtucs and use #WelcomeBackBTU and #StuRaBTU.
- Send the same photo to oearbeit@stura-btu.de , together with your full name, study programme, current semester, student ID number, selected category and photo title. Each student may submit one photograph. The photo must have been taken on a BTU campus or clearly represent student life at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.
Important Dates
- Contest period : October 5–19, 2026
- Finalists selected : October 21–25, 2026
- Community voting through Instagram likes and comments : October 26–28, 2026
- Winners announced : October 29, 2026
- Photo exhibition and recognition event : November 4, 2026
No professional camera or photography experience is required. A smartphone, a creative idea and an authentic BTU moment are enough!
