How does the election work?

The Student Council is elected by the Student Parliament, which in turn is generally elected annually by the entire student body.

The election takes place during regular sessions of the Student Parliament. The individual departments are addressed one after another and elected separately.

Before the election, each candidate will have the opportunity to introduce themselves in person and outline their motivation, qualifications, and goals. Members of Parliament may then ask the candidates questions.

In-person attendance at the meeting is not mandatory. Candidates may also present their motivation through other means. However, in-person presentations are strongly encouraged.

The election will then take place via a secret ballot in the Student Parliament. The results will subsequently be publicly announced to the university.

Since there are several vacancies to be filled, the election is expected to take place over the course of several parliamentary sessions. Candidates are not required to be present throughout the entire election process; however, participation in the respective candidate presentation session is recommended.

The elections are expected to take place between June 30 and July 7, 2026 . The exact dates for the individual department elections will be announced in due course.
